Radio Stations & Roofer Have $10,000 Winner

Cookeville, Tenn. – Congratulations to Lucas Phillips, who recently won $10,000, courtesy of Henry Brother’s Roofing, 106-9 Kicks Country and Lite Rock 95.9, during the Raise the Roof Basketball Contest which took place at halftime during a DeKalb County High School basketball game.  Watch him win!

For the past 8 years the Raise the Roof promotion has given basketball fans the chance to win $10,000 paid for by Odds On, during halftime at selected boy’s high school basketball games.

In order to particpate, contestants registered prior to the game and if they were randomly selected, they got thirty seconds to successfully complete a lay- up, a free throw, a three-pointer and a half-court shot.

This December during halftime at a DeKalb County basketball game, Lucas Phillips took to the court and nailed all four shots before time ran out, winning the $10,000 prize.

According to Phillips, “The best part … was the electric atmosphere. So much joy and excitement from everyone! It’s surreal how God can use you for only 30 seconds to bring everyone together, even from opposite teams in a competitive environment, to celebrate, laugh and just enjoy the moment together. The smiles, the hugs, the high fives, that’s the real payout. So fun and a memory I’ll never forget, so happy it happened in my hometown too!”

According to Taylor Hill Cook, with 106-9 Kicks Country and Lite Rock 95.9, Odds On answered all questions, promptly returned calls and was very easy to work with throughout the claims process.  Are you interested in raising more awareness for your business, team or cause?  Looking for more creative ways to activate a sports sponsorship or connect with sports fans?  Give us a call today at 888-827-2249.

Rotary Shrimp Race has $30,000 Winner

Beaufort, S.C. – Congratulations to Lisa Sloop, who recently won $30,000, courtesy of the Sea Island Rotary Club, and paid for by Odds On Promotions, during the Sea Island Rotary Club’s 14th Annual Charity Shrimp Race, which took place during the 2023 Beaufort Shrimp Festival.

The Charity Shrimp Race is similar to a duck race. But instead of selling rubber ducks to raise money for various community causes, the Rotarians sell numbered rubber shrimp, online and off, in the days and weeks leading up to the Beaufort Shrimp Festival. Then, on the appointed day, they release the rubber shrimp into the Beaufort River.

While the “owners” of the first 10 shrimp to cross the finish line share in a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000, the first 100 shrimp to cross the line get a shot at winning $30,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions, if the number on their shrimp matches a preselected winning number.  Sloop, who only recently moved to Beaufort, purchased 15 shrimp online, through her Rotarian real estate agent. It was lucky shrimp number 1155 that landed her the $30,000 insured prize.

According to Jay Taylor with Kinghorn Insurance – Beaufort, who has secured coverage for this fundraising event since it began, “We are very proud to have assisted the Sea Island Rotary Club with this event. We’ve been working with Odds On Promotions for over 20 years. They are always very easy to work work with and the claims process was very  efficient.”  Billed as the “World’s Largest Shrimp Race” the proceeds from this event fund a mobile dental clinic for under-served residents of Beaufort and Jasper counties.

Are you interested in holding your own duck, fish, dinosaur, cow, crab or shrimp race?  Looking for more creative ways to raise money for your community or cause?  Give Odds On Promotions a call today at 888-827-2249.

Mill Casino Hands Over Prize on Super Sunday

North Bend, Ore. – Congratulations to Deann Reichenback who scored $1,000 last Super Sunday when the Chief’s Kadarius Toney made the longest punt return in Super Bowl history.

Reichenback won the cash prize during The Mill Casino’s $29,000 Big Game Viewing Party. Mill Club Members that placed a $20 minimum wager on any sport between February 1-12, 2023, received a drawing ticket for a chance to win between $1,000 and $25,000 paid for by Odds On, if one of five qualifying “big plays” occured during the game. While no one scored the $25,000 prize (opening or second half kick return), when Toney made his historic punt return for a touchdown, the casino randomly selected Reichenback’s drawing ticket and awarded her the $1K prize.

While The Mill offered $29k in prizes during the Big Game last year, Reno’s Atlantis Casino Resort Spa not only handed over $300,000, paid for by Odds On, to three lucky players following Jacoby Jones’ 2013 Super Sunday kick return, they doubled down and awarded another $300,000 (also paid by Odds On) to three lucky players when Percy Harvin returned the opening kick off in 2014.

Basketball Shootout Nets Visionary Homes Visibility

Salt Lake City, Utah  – Last basketball season, Visionary Homes, the Official Homebuilder of the Utah Jazz, gave a lucky fan the chance to win a house, paid for by Odds On Promotions, in a Basketball Series Shootout.

Selected at random during a game between the Clippers and the Jazz, Mike Johnson, sporting a fashionable pair of cowboy boots, was all smiles as he prepared for his shot at the prize, which was valued at $450,000.

Johnson had the crowd crowd cheering him on after he successfully made the layup, the free throw, and the three-pointer.  Unfortunately, he ran out of time before completing the half-court shot.  But he took it in stride.    While Johnson didn’t net himself a new home, junior high school student J.J. Franks won $10,000 last Fall, courtesy of Northern Bottling and paid for by Odds On, when he successfully completed a Series Shootout at half-time during a high school  basketball game. Watch him win.

Marysville, Tenn. — Talk about a winning way to end the football season, Bed’r Mattress rebated $50,000 in purchases to qualified shoppers after the University of Tennessee beat Clemson at the Orange Bowl.

To generate publicity, drive traffic, and increase sales – from August 31 to mid-September of 2022, Bed’r Mattress gave customers the chance to get a 100% rebate on all purchases made during the promotional period if the Tennessee Volunteers won 11 or more games during the ’22 football season.
