Baseball FanFest Promotion a Big Hit in Minnesota
Reno, Nev. – Baseball fans attending TwinsFest got the chance to win season tickets, paid for by Odds On Promotions, in a “Crack the Code” contest sponsored by a local sports radio station.
According to Chris Gardiner, who worked with the station to create the promotion, “As part of their participation in this popular ‘FanFest’ event, the station gave every attendee the chance to win a pair of Minnesota Twins season tickets, if they could pick a winning 5-digit number.”
And what exactly was the average fan’s response? According to a TwinsFest participant at the BallParkMagic blog:
It is worth the time at TwinsFest to wait in line for the AM1500 Crack the Code contest. You can listen to the radio stage interviews waiting your turn at entering a 5 digit guess to win season tickets (1 in a 100,000 chance). It seem (sic) to be over 95% got the consolation prize… a very nice beer glass with the inaugural season logo etched on it.
While it may have seemed like AM 1500 was handing out prizes to 95% of participants, in reality, the hand held unit was pre-programmed to award several consolation prizes to ensure a multiplicity of winners.

LIVE: Magazine Creating Traffic With $10K Derby Contest
Reno, Nev. – Addison Magazine is giving readers the chance to win $10,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions, in a Derby prediction promotion.
To participate in the promotion, readers must either visit a participating bar or restaurant, or the Clyde May’s Conechu Ridge Whiskey display at Centennial Fine Wines and Spirits and pick up a special password that is used to log into the contest at the magazine’s website.
After logging in, contestants then select which horses will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the 2010 Derby on May 22nd for the shot to win $10,000!
According to Zak Woodhead, Risk Manager for Odds On Promotions, “Talk about a great match-up … after all, what’s the Derby without Mint Juleps? Of course, what I really like about this contest, and what I think makes it really effective, is that the magazine is driving traffic to the advertisers’ retail outlets, then back to the magazine’s website. This is a fun way to not only show advertisers how effective your publication is at driving traffic, but a great way to engage readers.”

Need a Great Fundraiser? Think Golf Ball Drop!
Pago-Pago, American Samoa – Looking to raise more money at your golf event this season? Maybe it’s time to add a golf ball drop to your event! The people of American Samoa are another step closer to the dream of having their first community swimming pool thanks to the Rotary Club’s 6th Annual Golf Tournament & $50,000 Golf Ball Drop. Contestants in the golf ball drop purchase one of 1000 numbered golf balls which are then dropped from a bucket truck onto a target “hole”. If any of the five numbered balls falling closest to the hole match a preselected lucky golf ball number, the “owner” wins $50,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions. While there wasn’t a $50,000 grand prize winner, three lucky ball-buyers still received some fantastic prizes. The first-place winner, Spencer Sword, took home a round-trip ticket to Honolulu, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines. The second-place winner, Jackie Young, picked up $500 and the third-place winner was Jeff Shively who won $250. This year’s event helped the Rotarians to surpass their $100,000 fundraising goal getting them that much closer to a community pool.
