Golf Contests at the Toshiba Classic: Over $1,000,000 Insured!

golf contests at the toshiba classicWe’re happy to announce that Odds On Promotions, as well as our sister company, Hole In One International, both teamed up to help insure a couple of fabulous golf contests at the Toshiba Classic this year!  One on March 12, 2013, and the other will occur on March 17, 2013.

You may remember last year when we insured the Shot From the Top during the Toshiba Classic, which was insured for $10,000.  This time, they upped the ante quite a bit… and insured two separate golf contests which were worth over $1,000,000 in cash and prizes, compliments of Odds On Promotions and Hole In One International.

Golf Contests: Ball Within a Circle & Million Dollar Shootout

The first golf contest was a Ball in the Circle promotion, which occurred on March 12, 2013.  The contest consisted of five teams.  Each team contained one tour professional, one celebrity, and one media member.  Each of them teed off from the 10th hole at the renowned Newport Beach Country Club.  If the golf ball came to a complete rest within the circle on the green, that player would have been awarded $50,000… compliments of Odds On Promotions!  That’s five times the prize value of last year’s contest!  And it gets even better…

A Million Dollar Shootout will also be held on March 17th, where two amateur golfers and one tour professional will have a chance to take a shot from the 185-yard hole #17 at Newport Beach Country Club for a chance to win $1,000,000, compliments of Hole In One International, should they end up acing the hole and making a hole in one!  Needless to say, we can’t wait to see how that golf contest ends up playing out and we hope to be privileged enough to insure a golf contest at next year’s Toshiba Classic as well!

Golf Contest Worth $25K Insured at Golf Academy

golf contestLooking for a golf contest that will give your clients and customers something to talk about?  Then you’ll love this putting contest  story, which comes to us from a golf academy in the West, who teamed up with a local sports bar in order to achieve a few key sales and marketing objectives for both companies.

Prior to the promotional date, individuals who visited a local sports bar during Monday Night Football games received a raffle ticket.  At the end of the promotional period, 16 individuals were chosen via raffle to participate in the insured golf contest held at the golf academy: a 3-putt-combination putting contest, insured by Odds On.

Each finalist had the opportunity to make a 10, 30 and 43-foot putt; however, it was a process of elimination.  Those who made the 10-foot putt proceeded to the 30-foot putt.  Those who holed the 30-foot putt proceed on to the final 43-foot putt.  All 3 putts had to be successfully completed in order for a finalist to win the insured prize — $25,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions.

While unfortunately, no one was able to hole all 3 putts, there were some close calls and both companies — the golf academy and the sports bar — were able to better advertise their businesses.

Fishing Promotion Gives One Contestant a Chance to Reel In $100K

Looking to “lure” more attendees to your next fishing tournament and “reel in” fundraising dollars in the process?  This Maine nonprofit organization did exactly exactly that by insuring a giant prize fishing promotion during their “Fish for A Cure” event!

On the specified promotion date, anglers at this fishing tournament helped raise funds for cancer research with a state record weight contest.  1,000 anglers were given the opportunity to catch a “grand prize” Northern Pike in any/all bodies of water throughout the state.  All anglers who caught Northern Pike would weigh in their catches at the scales at the end of the tournament.  If one of the Northern Pike happened to beat the current state record weight of 31.2 pounds, they’d win $100,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions!

While unfortunately, no one ended up managing to beat the state record, money was still fundraised to help fund cancer research and much fun was had by all of the anglers that day.
