Poker Contests: Great For Fundraising AND Insuring Prizes!

poker contests - number guessBelieve it or not, poker contests don’t always need to feature playing cards.  Check out how this non-profit organization in the Midwest is upping the ante with a lucky number promotion during their fundraising poker tournament!

Each poker tournament participant who pays an additional $10 will get to select a sequentially-numbered poker chip from a pile of 300 chips for a shot at $10K!

At the end of the tournament, the winner, if they had placed the additional $10 “bet” will give their lucky numbered chip to the promotion official who will then enter the number on the poker chip into Odds On’s mobile number verification system* to see if it’s a match.   If the contestant’s chip number matches Odds On’s preselected number, they’ll be an instant $10,000 winner… and Odds On Promotions will cut the check for the prize!

Ready to “ante up” and insure one of our poker contests at your next poker tournament, fundraiser or other big event?  Give Odds On Promotions a call for a free, no-obligation quote at 888-827-2249 or feel free to email us any time with any questions you may have.  We’ll be sure to help you custom-tailor a promotion that will not only generate tons of excitement among your attendees, but assist you in your fundraising endeavors as well, if applicable!

*While this organization opted for the flexibility and portability of Odds On’s mobile number verification system, Odds On also offers a handheld number verification unit as well.

Fishing Promotion Gives One Contestant a Chance to Reel In $100K

fishing promotion - fish for a cure

Looking to “lure” more attendees to your next fishing tournament and “reel in” fundraising dollars in the process?  This Maine nonprofit organization did exactly exactly that by insuring a giant prize fishing promotion during their “Fish for A Cure” event!

On the specified promotion date, anglers at this fishing tournament helped raise funds for cancer research with a state record weight contest.  1,000 anglers were given the opportunity to catch a “grand prize” Northern Pike in any/all bodies of water throughout the state.  All anglers who caught Northern Pike would weigh in their catches at the scales at the end of the tournament.  If one of the Northern Pike happened to beat the current state record weight of 31.2 pounds, they’d win $100,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions!

While unfortunately, no one ended up managing to beat the state record, money was still fundraised to help fund cancer research and much fun was had by all of the anglers that day.

Tourney TIP: Want to make your fishing derby a “reel” win/win?  Incorporate a giant prize promotion into your next fundraising fishing tournament, and have the  insured prize split between winning angler and the charity of your choice, 50/50!

Of course record weight promotions don’t only have to be insured by state — Odds On can also insure a world record weight promotion of your choice!  Just give us the species you’d like to cover, and we’ll put together a quote on the promotion — it’s free and no-obligation!

Golf Contest Insured at 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

golf contestHave you heard the big news?  Odds On Promotions’ sister company, Hole In One International, insured a golf contest at the renowned PGA charitable event, the 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am!  The contest itself is dubbed “The 3M Celebrity Challenge” and occurred Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at 11:00am.

Twelve celebrities (chances are you probably know of at least a few of them… do the names Ray Romano, Bill Murray and/or Kenny G ring a bell?) gathered at the 17th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links for a chance to participate in a golf shootout contest!  If any of the twelve celebrity golfers ended up scoring a hole in one on the 170-yard hole, they would have scored $100,000 for their designated charity, paid for Hole In One International!

Golf Contest: A $100,000 Shootout for Charity!

The best part about Hole In One International’s hole-in-one and shootout insurance is that the coverage isn’t limited to one player!  Technically, if all twelve celebrity golfers were to have aced the 170-yard par 3 hole, they each would have landed $100,000 for their designated charity — again, compliments of Hole In One International!

“Insuring a major PGA event such as this one is undoubtedly great news for our company”, states Kristen Hansen, Marketing Assistant with Hole In One International and Odds On Promotions.  “The fact that we’ve been privileged enough to insure a golf contest at both the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, as well as the Phoenix Waste Management Open this year, is definitely a feel-good experience.  Being the golf enthusiasts that we are here at Hole In One International, it’s also exciting for all of us to watch the events live to see if we end up with a winner — or at least to see who comes close!”

Want to insure a golf contest of your own?  Give Hole In One International a call today at 800-827-2249 for a free, no-obligation quote or email them for more information!

Fundraising Promotion Brings Together Station, Car Dealer & DECA Club

Odds On’s Internet Business Development Manager Damien Anderson recently assisted Bryant Motors with a creative fundraising promotion in conjuction with a local radio station, BOB 92.3, and the DECA Club of Smith Cotton High School.

Fundraising Promotion Featuring A Dodge Dart

This Fall, Bryant Motors partnered with radio station BOB 92.3 in Sedalia, Missouri and the local high school DECA club, giving everyone who made a donation the chance to win a Dodge Dart in a Pick 3 of 10 Lucky Envelopes promotion at a basketball game.

For several weeks leading up to the big game, the Smith-Cotton High School’s DECA Club sold raffle tickets.  Each week a lucky finalist was randomly selected and announced on air by Denny Perkins, during the BOB 92.3 morning  show.  Each finalist received $100 plus a chance to win the 2013 Dodge Dart, courtesy of Kyle Herrick at Bryant Motors, and paid for by Odds On Promotions.

On January 4th, during a Smith-Cotton basketball game,  one lucky finalist out of the five weekly qualifiers got the chance to select three Lucky Envelopes out of 20, in hopes of locating three symbols: the front; middle; and back of a Dodge Dart  – thus winning the new car from Bryant Motors. While there wasn’t a grand prize winner, DECA awarded the lucky finalist an additional $100 as a consolation prize. All proceeds from raffle went to benefit Child Safe.

Poker Run Promotion Worth $25,000 Benefits Veterans

poker run promotion - national guardLooking for the perfect Veteran’s Day fundraising promotion?  Look no further!  Just take notes from this Army National Guard in the Great Plains, who insured a poker run promotion which benefitted multiple Army non-profits.

On the specified promotion date, 550 eager motorcyclists showed up to the event, which took place at the National Guard’s headquarters.  Each participant rode to 5 separate stops/locations to pick up a poker card.  At the end of the event, each participant entered their highest five card poker hand into Odds On Promotions‘ Lucky Hand Poker Run Verification Machine.  If a participant’s five card poker hand ended up matching Odds On’s preselected poker hand, they would have won a brand new 2012 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle, valued at $25,000.

While unfortunately, no one won the motorcycle, there was still a lot of good news to be had: Since each participant was charged $25 to participate in the poker run, that meant that $13,750 was fundraised that day!  Additionally, any club, organization, unit or chapter of this National Guard with the most paid entries received a $500 check if at least 400 riders attended the event that day (which they did)!

And last, but definitely not least, the good news is that no one went home empty-handed after the promotion, despite the fact that no one won the insured prize.  Smaller cash prizes were given to the 1st place, 2nd place and even lowest hand winner!

Want to insure a poker run promotion of your own and fundraise for a good cause?  Interested in any of our other fundraising contests we have to offer for non-profit organizations?  Give us a call today at 888-827-2249… or email us for more information!  We’d be happy to assist you in your fundraising endeavors!
