Holiday Promotion Idea: Run a Giant Prize Easter Egg Hunt!

To increase donations for a local charity and boost attendance at a community Easter event, a Missouri-based car dealership teamed up with a non-profit organization that focuses on child abuse prevention to insure a Pick ‘Til You Win-style Lucky Envelopes promotion!

Here’s how the holiday promotion worked: During the venue’s Easter Egg Hunt event, one lucky hidden egg contained a note, notifying the “egg hunter” that they had found the chance to participate in the insured Lucky Envelopes contest!

The lucky contestant was then given the opportunity to open one of Odds On’s “Lucky Envelopes” at a time until they collected five matching symbols representing one of 3 different prizes. If the five symbols the contestant collected first were the grand prize symbols, they would win a brand new 2013 Chrysler 200 (valued at $30,000), courtesy of the car dealership and paid for by Odds On! The other two prizes available in the Lucky Envelopes contained smaller cash prize, which were self-insured by the contest sponsors.

Cow Bingo: Rotary Club Raises Bucks for Local Non-Profit

What do you get when you combine a cow, bingo, a field and a $75,000 prize?
Here at Odds On, we call it one heck of an attention-getting fundraiser!

This March, during the 19th Annual Florida Gateway Pro Rodeo, the Rotary Club of Lake City is giving donors a chance to win $75,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions, in a Cow Bingo fundraiser.

How Now Cow Bingo?

Also known as Cow Pie Bingo, Bovine Bingo and Cow Patty Bingo, Cow Chip Bingo gives donors the chance to win prizes based on where a bovine does his or her business.

After selecting an appropriate space – in this case, a very large field – the contest organizers will create a large grid of numbered square-yard “plots”, selling numbered “deeds” for each plot to donors. On the date of the promotion, the bovine will be released at the center of the field to roam about and do “what comes naturally.”

After the bovine “does its business”, the location will be noted and whomever “owns” that square will be named the winner, taking home a guaranteed $2,500 prize. However, if the square happens to be the same “Lucky Square” preselected by Odds On, the owner will win – no bull – $75,000, paid for by Odds On.

Deeds to each “square yard” of the field are selling for $10 a piece. All funds raised in the Rotary Club of Lake City’ $75,000 Cow Chip Bingo promotion will support the Columbia County School Foundation’s Backpacks 4 Food Program.

Get on a Roll for Tax R-E-L-I-E-F: Casino Dice Roll Promotion

Let’s face it, this year, everyone could use a little tax relief. And that’s one of the reasons why I’m suggesting that companies consider marketing into Monday, April 15 – Income Tax Day – particularly since so many people now file their taxes electronically.

One the more entertaining ways to hand out a little relief is with a set of Odds On’s
custom 1″, 4″ or 8″ dice. In a dice roll promotion, you’ll give qualifiers the chance to spell a particular word – in this case – R-E-L-I-E-F, as in tax relief, or collect a winning combination of letters and numbers (e.g. 1-0-4-0-E-Z) in order to win $50,000, $100,000, $500,000 or more.

However, another creative way to customize your dice is to feature a different color on each die face – so that with every roll, your players spell RELIEF, reinforcing the theme of the promotion. Here’s just one way you might want to run a casino dice roll…

1. Draw a contestant every half hour from 3pm-Midnight on Saturdays and Sundays in April, giving players the chance to roll and win up to $1,040 or more in cash, slot play or points based on how many matching colored letters they roll.

2. In addition to your weekend rolls, on Monday, April 15, hold a special Tax RELIEF roll where you’ll draw 15 lucky players and give them each the chance to roll R-E-L-I-E-F in a matching color, and win $150,000, paid for by Odds On.
